I wanted to go into web page design but I found out I needed a computer for that. So I went on an adventure to find a laptop or a desktop computer to use. I went to Best Buy, Wal Mart, and K-Mart. At Best Buy I found a really cool not so expensive laptop. I went home and set it up for my web pagedesign but then I realized I had to be connected to the internet. Wow now I'm in search of an internet provider too. I called around to different places for internet. I called Qwest they had a great special on packaged deals. The next day my internet was hooked up and ready to go. So ok I'm working on my web page design and I get a phone call from my friend asking if I had my messenger set up yet. I was oh wow a messenger comes to my house now to give me messages. She said "No silly your laptop has messenger on it." I was confused because the guy at Best Buy never told me the features I had on my new laptop. I called someone in the Geek department asking about my messenger where it was located and how do I set it up. The guy asked if I had hotmail, yahoo, or AOL e-mail. I replied yes I do why. He then proceeded to instruct me on how to start my messenger. He said I go under the START menu. Then click on "all programs" depending on what e-mail I had. I had a hotmail e-mail account. He then told me to look for Windows Live Messenger. I had to type in my e-mail address and my password. I got that done then called my friend back. I asked her what her messenger name was. We started chatting online. In the mean time I had forgotten about my web page design that I was supposed to be doing. We chatted for about 3 hours just catching up on gossip and other stuff. She had to leave for work and I had to get started on my web page design. Finally mid morning the next day I had finished my project that I had planned to do. I submitted it into the school that was offering computer classes. Then I thought how I could do web page design when I don't know much about computers. But I learned a lot more about it.

I had lost my job as a data entry clerk and decided that I needed to find a new job. In today's society, finding a new job isn't as easy as it used to be. The way that a job seeker has to go about finding a new job today require a lot of tools that weren't available when I got my first job out of high school. As a frequent chat room visitor I was very familiar with the world of cyberspace. I adore the internet, i started when i was young and had lessons in school I instantly enjoyed the whole aspect of it and was sucked into the world of technology and the internet. In school we only had one class a week but we were taught the basic of the on-line search and how to find whatever web site we were searching for and such. It all started then for me and i am so glad that school gave me the opportunity. I enjoyed every moment of it and took time to suck up all the knowledge that was passed onto me so maybe one day i could return the favor, which i would love to do and it is of course only fair, people should know just how many things they can do by an on-line search and looking for a website, could be internet dating, chatting, meeting friends, shopping, booking a holiday and looking for that perfect present for someone special or even having a career online anything is possible and it was time more people knew of these wonders.

Not everyone on-line today has a broadband provider. It has become somewhat assumed that the majority of internet users have a high-speed connection. While this is clearly the goal, as internet access is saturating many countries, there are still those for whom a visit to the information highway means a walk and not a high-speed chase. Web page design was not Steve's strong point. He decided that he would need to get a professional in to take over. He thought that he would be able to teach himself how to create a web page to meet his needs and therefore save money, but it was proving more complex than originally thought. He had gone into a chat room to try and get someinformation of people who knew more than he did and all he got was a lot more jargon that he was not able to understand, and when looking for free tools to help he was confronted with pop-up advertisement after pop-up advertisements, andeach free or cheap download seemed to come with viruses attached that his free software would not remove. It seemed that Steve would have to put his hand in his pocket.
